COVID-19 Update

Crosspath Family,
This is unquestionably the most unique time in church life that we have ever experienced in our lifetime. I wanted to make you aware of some tough decisions that the Elders have made as it relates to our coronavirus response. We have decided to cancel all regularly scheduled church activities and events here on our property through Friday, April 3, 2020. As we approach April, the Elders will meet again to determine what our next steps as a church will be.
You may wonder why we decided on this drastic step. First, we believe in honoring the authorities that have been placed above us. Whether it’s the President of the United States, the CDC, Governor of Tennessee, or our local authorities, they all have advised to cancel any large group gatherings in the foreseeable future. A second reason we have decided to take these steps is our love for others. In our very own congregation, we have some that are at high risk for the virus and we want to protect them. If by not meeting for a few weeks we can help slow the spread of this virus, we believe it is a biblical principle of loving our neighbors.
Here are some things you need to know going forward….
- The church website is going to be the number one source of information in this time. Please check out www.crosspathchurch.org and look for the banner that says “COVID-19 Updates”. This will be a central place we will make sure we post all the updates and videos that we release so you can be in the know. Also, please like our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/crosspathchurch) to keep up with information as well.
- We are thankful for technology that is going to allow us to LIVESTREAM our Sunday morning worship services. Beginning this Sunday at 10:50 AM, we will go live on our church website and our Facebook page so that we can still participate in corporate worship. Visit the church’s website and look in the top right hand corner of the homepage for a button that says “LIVESTREAM.” When you click on that button, it will take you to the livestream video player. Each week we will have music from the praise team and a message from Pastor William! If you don’t have access to our website or Facebook, please let us know and we would like to get you a DVD to watch at your house.
- We are here for you! During this time, our church staff is working on how we can remain connected even when we can’t be together. Bill and Hannah have already begun to reach out to youth and children trying to give them resources to help them navigate this time. Also, we have been reaching out to some of our older church members checking to see how they are doing and how we can serve them. If you need anything (shopping, appointments, errands, etc.), please call the church and our staff would love to help you!
- One area that we wanted to encourage each of you is to continue to give generously and faithfully to Crosspath Church during this time. While we may not be meeting in person, the church still has financial responsibilities that must continue to be met each week - both for our own church, as well as for supporting those serving as missionaries in our cooperative program in the IMB and NAMB. You can give online, drop it by the church, or mail it in. Thank you for your faithfulness in this area!
Yes, church, this is a trying time, but I am confident that God is going to use this time to do a work in each of us as well as advance the Kingdom in unprecedented ways. Oftentimes, we put a lot of focus on the church gathered, but we are now shifting to how we can be the church scattered! Allow God to use you as you have the hope of Jesus in you, to share that hope with so many people around you who are longing for hope during these uncertain times. Don’t focus on the obstacles, but instead look for the amazing opportunities that we have! We love you and are here for you, so please reach out to us if you need us!
